    The Professional Services Marketing Association (PSMA) of Western Pennsylvania is an organization that provides resources and support to those working in marketing, communications, client service and business development functions in professional service firms. Through education, training, networking, and thought leadership, PSMA members continuously form and strengthen relationships through the exchange of ideas and advice.

    A little about our history …
    The PSMA originated as a chapter of the Legal Marketing Association (LMA). In 2002, a group of forward-thinking local marketers decided to break away from the LMA to establish a more inclusive organization, expanding the group's original membership base to include all professional service marketers - whether they come from a law, accounting, engineering, architecture, construction, banking, insurance or any other number of professional service backgrounds. Today, the PSMA brings together over 100 professionals at all levels: CMOs to entry-level specialists - and everyone in between - from firms of all sizes and disciplines, consultants and vendors, service providers and marketing students.

    Who joins the PSMA?
    PSMA members come from many different backgrounds, but the most common shared thread is that they all wear many different hats at their respective firms. Our members have responsibilities that typically fall within the following categories:

    • Database and contact management

    • Direct mail

    • Event planning

    • Graphic design, production and printing

    • Promotional and premium items

    PSMA members find that we all have a common bond as professional service marketers. It is through this connection that we strive to provide our members with the kind of knowledge, people and programs they need to carve out the path to successful marketing initiatives for their firms.

    We're very proud to report that year after year, we consistently receive feedback about how welcoming PSMA members are to new members. Despite the fact that many of us come from competing firms, that has never stopped our members from freely sharing their knowledge, expertise and guidance. It is very much a "we're all in this together!" type of group, which is an invaluable resource for the newbie and old pro alike!
